What year was the first Chevrolet Cruze LTZ?

I’m still losing sleep about the demise of the Chevrolet Cruze—I’m considering writing a history of this now-defunct car. One of the things I’m trying to figure out is the following—what year was the first Chevrolet Cruze LTZ offered?

Well, we here at Jerry are rather worried you’re still losing sleep about a vehicle that’s been out of production for three years, but to answer your question, the first
Chevrolet Cruze LTZ
was released in 2011 as part of the Cruze’s inaugural lineup. The Cruze LTZ had an original MSRP price of $22,225, but you can find a used one today for between $11,000 and $18,000, depending on its condition and mileage.
The LTZ was the Cruze’s top trim level and came equipped with a 1.4-liter 4-cylinder engine with 138 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque. Additionally, it boasted a very solid 28 combined miles per gallon of fuel efficiency.
You’ll find nifty (for its day) features like:
  • Auto-dimming rearview mirror
  • Automatic climate control
  • Rear-park assist
  • Illuminated vanity mirrors
  • Sport-tuned suspension
This all goes along with the Cruze LTZ’s smooth driving nature and athletic handling.
While the Cruze was a popular and affordable choice, it was discontinued in 2019. However, it may be coming back to the market in the next few years here, so stay tuned. And get some sleep.
