What year was the first Buick Century Custom?

Pretty sure the Custom was a trim for the Buick Century long before the 90s. When was the first Buick Century Custom available?

The year the first
Buick
Century Custom was available was 1975. That year, Buick offered the Century in four trims:
  • Special
  • Century
  • Custom
  • Regal
The Buick Century Custom was the second-highest trim level for the Century model that year, replacing the Buick Century Luxus. Back then, the Custom was available as a coupe or sedan with an optional V8 engine.
The Custom had energy-absorbing bumpers designed to retract in minor fender-benders and then return to their original position. Other standard features advertised for the ‘75 Custom included:
  • Hidden windshield wipers
  • Dual horns
  • Ashtray lamps
  • Lower door carpeting
The Custom continued to be offered as a trim level in subsequent generations of the Buick Century before the Century model was replaced entirely by the Buick Regal. After that, the Century name was used as a trim level for the Regal line.
