What year did MINI Cooper get Bluetooth?
I love the small, spritely MINI Cooper, and I’m hoping to buy a used one. There’s a model from 2018 that I might spring for, but I want to know if I can use Bluetooth in it. When did MINI start adding Bluetooth to models?

You’re not alone in your MINI fandom! Luckily, MINI Cooper introduced Bluetooth capabilities in 2017, so your 2018 model should be ready to stream music sans hands!
Previous MINI model years were Bluetooth-enabled, which meant you could stream music and take hands-free calls if you
added a Bluetooth adapter
. If you opt for an older MINI, there are plenty of aftermarket Bluetooth car kits you can buy.As for the 2018 MINI, here are some tips for enabling Bluetooth:
- Go to “System Settings” on your screen
- Select “Mobile Devices” and then “Settings”
- Ensure the Bluetooth box is selected
- Use the left arrow to return to the “Settings” menu
- Select “Connect new device”
- Head to your phone’s Bluetooth menu and choose your MINI Cooper
