What year did Mercedes add Bluetooth?

I’m looking for a used Mercedes-Benz. I’m willing to get an older one if it’s affordable and the mileage isn’t too crazy, but Bluetooth is a must-have feature for me. But in what year did Mercedes add Bluetooth to their cars? I can’t find this anywhere?

We get the need for Bluetooth! And we have good news: any Mercedes-Benz released in the past decade will have Bluetooth, giving you a broad range of cars to consider.
Mercedes introduced Bluetooth to their cars in the 2007 model year, though these older models struggled with some technical flubs, most notably their inability to make calls or play music. These issues were resolved in model year 2009 Mercedes-Benz cars, though.
You can install Bluetooth in even older Mercedes, starting with 2002 models. If you find a 2002 or newer Mercedes with a UHI connector, you can purchase an aftermarket adapter that allows Bluetooth pairing, often with limited functionality.
The UHI connector is usually found inside the armrest. You should also find a TEL button on the “Comand” unit. The UHI connector was optional in some 2002 through 2004 models, and became standard in all Mercedes-Benz models from 2005 onward.
You can replace the stereo head unit in your Mercedes-Benz with a modern aftermarket option. There are head units on the market that allow not only Bluetooth functionality, but for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity as well. You’ll want to shop a bit to find the head unit that’s right for you.
