What type of windshield wiper fluid do I need to use for the Tesla Model Y?

Someone told me I need a special type of windshield wiper fluid for my Tesla Model Y. Is that true? If so, what kind do I need?

Yes, Tesla strongly discourages using certain types of windshield wiper fluids in the Tesla Model Y. You should avoid fluids with volatile organic compounds, bug-wash properties, and water-repellent features.
According to Tesla, these can cause squeaking, streaking, smearing, and other issues. To be safe, you should stick to only the Tesla-approved windshield wiper fluids, such as Prestone AS658P.
When in doubt, you can always check your Tesla’s owner’s manual to find detailed information on which fluid it can and cannot use.
