What type of questions should I be prepared to answer when I call to report a claim?
What type of questions will my insurance company ask me and what information will I need after a car accident? I have never been in a car accident before and was wondering what the process is.

“The moments after even a small automobile
accident
can be frightening and leave you feeling confused about what to do next. The first step you need to take is to get yourself to a safe location.
Next, you will want to call the police and let them know of the accident. While you are waiting for the police to arrive, do the following:
- collect the other driver’s information
- provide the other driver with your information
- take pictures
- call your carrier to file the claim
The claims agent on the other line is a person just like you and will probably ask if you are hurt and if you are in a safe location.
Once that is established, here are a few more questions they may ask:
- When and where did the accident take place?
- Is anyone injured?
- How many people/cars were involved?
- Can you provide a brief description of what happened?
Another option is to file the
claim
