What type of oil does an Infiniti G37 take?

I got my hands on a sweet 2013 Infiniti G37 at a police auction—I’m told this car has seen some things—and I can’t wait to hit the road with it. What kind of oil does the Infiniti G37 take?

A 2013
Infiniti G37
takes Mobil 1 - Extended Performance 5W-30 Full Synthetic Motor Oil, which you can get anywhere automobile products and supplies are sold.
To change your oil, here’s what you’ll need:
  • Socket wrench
  • Drain pan
  • Replacement filter
  • Filter wrench
  • 5 quarts of Mobil 1 - Extended Performance 5W-30 Full Synthetic Motor Oil
Follow these steps to change your oil:
  • Run your engine for a few minutes to get it up to operating temperature
  • Remove the oil cap
  • Get under your engine, remove the oil drain bolt and washer, then drain the G37’s old oil into the drain pan
  • Remove the old oil filter as well
  • Install a new oil filter
  • Replace the old drain bolt with a new washer and tighten it to 29 lb-ft
  • Pour 5 quarts of 5W-30 Full Synthetic Motor Oil into your engine
  • Consult your dipstick to ensure the engine has enough oil
  • Run the Infiniti for a few minutes to ensure there are no leaks
Infiniti recommends changing your oil every 7,500 to 10,000 miles if you are using a synthetic motor oil, but you should check your oil on a regular basis. You may need to change your oil sooner if you notice any of the following:
  • The oil is dark brown or black in color (it should be light brown or amber)
  • Unfamiliar noises
  • Unfamiliar smells such as oil, burning, or smoke
  • A change in your Infiniti’s performance
Regularly changing your Infiniti’s oil protects your vehicle, as does a robust
