In terms of getting a restricted driver’s license, the state that has the youngest driving age is
South Dakota
. You only have to be 14.5 years old to get a restricted driver’s license in South Dakota.However, you can get a learner’s permit at 14 years old in:
- Alaska
- Arkansas
- Iowa
- Kansas
- North Dakota
- South Dakota
And you can get a full, unrestricted license at 16 years old in:
- Idaho
- Montana
- North Dakota
