What should I put on my road trip packing list?

Aside from luggage and food, I'm wondering what else I should bring on my first solo road trip. What's a good idea to put on the packing list?

“If it’s your first road trip, you should think about things to have in case of an emergency.
They are:
  • Towing and labor coverage
or roadside assistance for your car in case you break down
  • Jump-start cables
  • Blankets and extra clothes
  • Non-perishable food items
  • Flares
  • Extra cell phone battery
Now that you have that stuff out of the way, other things might make your ride a bit more comfortable. Consider getting these:
  • Travel mug
  • Travel pillows, which are ideal for a quick nap at a rest stop
  • A holder or mount for your cell phone
  • Sunglasses
  • Reusable water bottle to stay hydrated
  • Hand sanitizer for those suspect gas station bathrooms
Put all of this together and you have the formula for one awesome road trip!
While it isn’t something to pack, be sure you have the proper
car insurance
for your trip. If there’s an accident along the way, you want to be sure you’re properly protected.
