What should I do if my car insurance company gives me the runaround after I file a claim?

I was in a no-fault accident. When I called my insurer to file a claim, they told me they needed the police report first. I got the report and sent it in two weeks later due to some clerical errors by the police. After calling my insurer several times, I still haven't heard a definitive answer on the status of my claim.

“Sorry to hear about your troubles! First off, you can definitely file a claim without a police report. It just may take a bit longer to get your money.
Furthermore, it’s odd that they didn’t give you a direct contact or phone number for your adjuster. That’s not common practice, either.
If you want an answer, you should call the insurance company every day. Sometimes hounding them into submission will get results. If you still don’t hear back, call and ask to talk to a supervisor.
If, after all that, you still don’t have a satisfactory answer regarding the status of your claim, you can file a complaint with your state’s Department of Insurance and the Better Business Bureau.
In the meantime, you should probably start looking for a new insurance company with
