What should I do if I haven't changed the address on my driving license?

I recently moved, and I haven’t updated the address on my driving license. I’m fairly sure it’s important to change it, but I’m not sure what steps to take. What do I need to do to change my driver’s license address?

Keeping your
provisional license
or unrestricted license up to date is important to avoid a ticket. If you haven’t changed the address on your driving license, go to the DMV.
When you go to the DMV, simply tell the clerk that you need to update your address. Some states may give you a new license on the spot if they have a printing machine. If they don’t have a machine, you will surrender your current license and get a temporary license. This piece of paper shows all of your information, just without a picture. You should get your new license in the mail within four to six weeks or sooner.
While an address change on your driving license shouldn’t cost you a ton, neither should your car insurance policy. That’s when
