What should I do if I am having a problem contacting my claims adjuster? I have been getting medical bills in the mail from an accident I had a few months ago. I submitted them to my insurance company but haven't heard anything back. What should I do?

Waiting for the payout of a claim can be stressful—even more so when there isn’t much communication from the insurance company. If you aren’t hearing back from your adjuster, there are some things you can do to speed the claims process up.
The most common reason they haven’t called you back is that they’re simply overwhelmed with claims right now. Instead of calling your claims agent, call your

claims department and ask to speak to a supervisor. Most of the time, this will take care of the situation.
There are other cases where further action will be needed. If you aren’t getting any traction with your company after speaking with a supervisor, it’s time to file a report with your state’s insurance commissioner.
You can find the steps needed to file a complaint on your state’s insurance website. They will ask you for the details of the situation and send a copy of the complaint to your insurance company along with a response deadline.
