What national parks are in Utah?

I love exploring the outdoors and will be in Utah for about a week. I was hoping to check out some of the national parks in Utah—what parks are there?

Utah
is home to some of the best skiing in the country, but it’s also home to five national parks—Arches, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, Bryce Canyon, and Zion:
  • Arches National Park: Bordered by
    Colorado
in the southeast, this 73,234-acre park is home to more than 2,000 natural sandstone arches, eroded sandstone fins, towers, ribs, gargoyles, hoodoos, and more. Whether you’re there to check out the scenery or hike one of the trails, Arches National Park is a must-see.
  • Canyonlands National Park: Located in southeastern Utah, Canyonlands National Park is known for its dramatic desert landscape carved out by the Colorado River. Check out the towering rock pinnacles called Needles, the remote canyons of the Maze, and the Native American rock paintings in Horseshoe Canyon.
  • Capitol Reef National Park: You’ll find Capitol Reef in Utah’s south-central desert. It surrounds a 100-mile snag in the earth’s crust known as Waterpocket Fold. Bursting with layers of golden sandstone, canyons, and eye-catching rock formations, this park is on all outdoor adventurers’ bucket lists. Make sure you stop by the Chimney Rock pillar, Hickman Bridge arch, and Capitol Reef, known for its white sandstone domes.
  • Bryce Canyon National Park: Bryce Canyon National Park is a sprawling reserve full of crimson-colored hoodoos and the famous Bryce Amphitheater—a hoodoo-filled depression lying below the Rim Trail. It offers some of the best views at Sunrise Point, Sunset Point, Inspiration Point, and Bryce Point.
  • Zion National Park: One of Utah’s most well-known national parks, Zion National Park is a sprawling nature preserve known for its steep red cliffs. Don’t miss the expansive canyon that averages about 2,000 feet deep and the unbeatable hikes through The Narrows. And if you want to take a dip, grab your swimsuit and head to the Virgin River.
Whether you’re swimming in the Virgin River or checking out the arches of Arches National Park,
