What national forests are in Arizona?
My family and I are heading to Arizona for two weeks on vacation. We love to explore the outdoors and want to check out some of the national forests. Which ones are in Arizona?

Arizona
is home to six national forests—Apache-Sitgreaves, Coconino, Coronado, Kaibab, Prescott, and Tonto.- Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest: Over two million acres full of stunning scenery and incredible experiences. Check out the Mogollon Rim and eight cold-water lakes. And from the Rim’s 7,600 ft. elevation, there are gorgeous vista points of the low lands to the south.
- Coconino National Forest: One of the most diverse forests in the country, Coconino National Forest is full of mountains and canyons, small lakes, lazy creeks and streams, not to mention the famous red rocks of Sedona and Ponderosa pine forests.
- Coronado National Forest: Spanning sixteen scattered mountain ranges that rise from the desert floor, Coronado National Forest is home to many biologically diverse species, spectacular mountain views, giant saguaro cactus, and colorful wildflowers.
- Kaibab National Forest: You won’t want to miss this national forest if you’re in northern Arizona. Choose one of the three districts—Williams, Tusayan, and North Kaibab—and explore the natural beauty, diverse wildlife, vegetation, and plenty of fantastic recreation.
- Prescott National Forest: With 950 miles of scenic trails and over 100,000 acres of wilderness, there’s plenty to do at Prescott year-round.
- Tonto National Forest: With elevations ranging from 1,300 feet to 7,900 feet, you’ll find Sonoran Desert cacti and flatlands gradually rising into the highlands of the Mogollon Rim. There are several outstanding recreational opportunities and loads of stunning scenery.
