What limits should I select for my hazmat truck insurance?
How do I know how much hazmat insurance I need? I just became hazmat certified and I've started applying to different trucking companies for a job. I need to make sure all of my insurance is in place before I get started.

“Hazmat trucking is a very exciting career for those with nerves of steel!
The correct limit of coverage will depend on what you will be hauling and how much. The minimum amount required is $1 million, but it can be as much as $5 million.
Once you sign on with a trucking company, they may be able to provide any insurance coverage for you. If so, ask what kind and the coverage limits. Of course, you always have the option to purchase additional coverage if you feel the limits provided are not sufficient.
Having the right kind of insurance with high enough limits is crucial to your safety and the safety of others (and the planet)!
