What kind of gas should I put in my car?

I am a new driver and before I have to go fill up my tank at the gas station, I want to know which type of fuel I need. There are a lot of options and I’m not really sure what to make of them—what kind of gas should I put in my car?

Great question! Unfortunately, we can’t give you a definitive answer on what kind of gas you should put in your car, as that largely depends on your vehicle and engine type, but we can help you figure it out for yourself. All you’ll need is your owner’s manual.
The easiest way to find out what kind of gas to put in your car is to consult your owner’s manual—this will provide the exact fuel recommendations from the manufacturers themselves, giving you 100% confidence about which gasoline to use.
If you aren’t driving a truck or other large vehicle with a diesel engine, chances are you’ll just need to fill up with regular unleaded gas, although some higher-end, higher-performance cars may require premium gasoline.
All in all, it’s best to refer to your owner’s manual when attempting to figure out what kind of gas to put in your car.
Using the right fuel is the easiest way to keep your engine running smoothly, which in turn helps keep you safer on the road—take that protection one step further with the right insurance policy using Jerry. As the nation’s
