What kind of gas does a Lexus take?

I’ve always driven affordable economy cars and didn’t think about the gas I was putting into it. Now that I own a luxury car, I’m second-guessing that. What kind of gas do I put in my Lexus?

It’s totally normal to have questions when you switch car categories! And you’re right on the money thinking the kind of gas a Lexus takes is different.
The recommended gasoline for most
Lexus
models is 91 octane—which is premium. There are a few Lexus models that require regular gas (87 octane). You can use regular gas in your Lexus if you own a:
  • Lexus UX or UX Hybrid
  • Lexus NX Hybrid
  • Lexus RX
  • Lexus ES or ES Hybrid
All other Lexus models have a minimum octane recommendation of 91 or higher.
Avoid using gasoline with a lower octane rating than the minimum recommended for your car. If you do, it can cause engine knocking and long-term engine damage, and it can even void the car’s warranty!
