What is traffic on Interstate 95 like?

I’m traveling from New York to Florida for spring break, but I’ve never traveled that far before. I assume that I’ll just take Interstate 95 the entire way, but I want to brace myself for traffic before I leave. What’s the traffic like on Interstate 95?

Going from
New York
to
Florida
is surprisingly easy thanks to I-95. The route is a straight shot, but traffic on Interstate 95 can be heavy for long stretches near Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and Miami.
The good news is that these cities all have bypasses that allow you to skip the traffic:
Miami is trickier, but if you’re headed this way, it’s your likely destination. If you need to bypass it to head to
Key West
, consider Florida state routes and U.S. Highways.
Stretching 1,900 miles from Maine to Florida, I-95 is one of the longest interstates in the country. If you’re going to take it from New York to Florida, make sure to review and update your car insurance with the
