What is the warranty on a 2013 Hyundai Elantra?

My buddy has his Hyundai Elantra for sale—I test drove it, and it seems to run well for a car that’s almost a decade old. I asked him about the warranty, but he told me that wasn’t sure what it entailed. What’s the 2013 Hyundai Elantra warranty?

Sounds like a great car—but the warranty may not offer much. The 2013
Hyundai Elantra
has a two-part warranty that features a five-year, 60,000-mile basic warranty and a 10-year, 100,000-mile warranty. To that effect, the basic warranty wouldn’t apply and you may have one year left on your powertrain warranty.
If the car has low miles and holds its value relatively well, you may want to consider
mechanical breakdown insurance
. This type of insurance will help you pay for repairs that you ordinarily would have to pay out of pocket.
Whether you decide to buy the car with or without mechanical breakdown insurance, do yourself a favor by shopping around for car insurance on the
