What is the Virginia electric vehicle rebate?

Due to the rising prices of gas, I’m spending nearly $150 a week filling the tank. For me, this is somewhat unsustainable, so I’m going to switch to an electric vehicle, but I’m wondering if there are any incentives to do so. Does Virginia have an electric vehicle rebate?

The
Virginia
EV rebate provides up to $4,500 for qualified buyers.
With the program extended until 2027, every Virginia resident has the opportunity to claim at least a portion of this amount. All residents of the Commonwealth can get a $2,500 rebate for purchasing a new EV from a participating dealer. In addition, low-income residents may also be eligible for an additional rebate of $2,000.
The only caveat is that the new electric vehicle must have a sales price of $25,000 or less. Cars like Teslas or other luxury SUVs don’t meet this threshold, so look for Japanese or American-made options to get this rebate.
