! The new model has advanced safety features, including a blind spot monitor. The Toyota 4Runner blind spot monitor uses radar to detect cars in your blind spot or approaching the blind spot. Once the radar detects other vehicles, it sends a visual cue to your side mirror.
Due to this and other advanced safety features, the 4Runner may finally get a five-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Previous iterations of the 4Runner didn’t include these features and resulted in a four-star safety rating.
