What is the Subaru Forester oil type?

I bought a used Subaru Forester that’s run pretty well since I’ve had it. But recently, it’s started to burn through oil more frequently than it used to. I didn’t pay much for it, so I think I’m just going to add oil until it goes kaput and I can buy a new car. What type of oil do I need for a Subaru Forester?

Burning oil may be a sign of bigger problems, but you can definitely weather the storm by replacing or topping up the oil regularly in your
Subaru Forester
. If you want to add oil, the Subaru Forester requires either 5W-30 or 0W-20 motor oil, but it’s dependent on the age of the vehicle and where you live.
If you live in a warmer climate and the car is older, 5W-30 is a good option. However, 0W-20 motor oil operates better in colder climates and still provides the lubrication your engine needs at top speeds.
You shouldn’t wait to save up for a new car, especially since your Forester is going to go kaput in the near future. Try using the
