What is the oil type for a 2015 Honda Civic?

I like to keep a container of motor oil in the trunk of my Civic just in case I need to top it off when I periodically check the level. I’ve gotten some mixed information about what oil type I should use. What kind of oil goes in a 2015 Honda Civic?

The oil type for a 2015
Honda Civic
is SAE 0W-20. This is a synthetic oil. If that viscosity is not available, you can replace it with SAE 5W-20 synthetic oil.
Each brand of oil has different additives with different roles—so you’ll want to make sure you get the same brand for your top-off as the oil currently in your engine. As with any oil, you can mix different viscosity when topping off your oil level.
