What is the North Dakota speed limit?

I’ve been to almost every state in the country, and I want to finish up my tour of the U.S. with a visit to North Dakota. As far as I can tell, the state doesn’t have a ton to see, so I was going to cruise through it. What is the speed limit in North Dakota?

If you want to cruise through the Flickertail State, keep in mind that the
North Dakota
’s speed limit is 75 mph, but only in designated areas of the interstate.
Outside of the interstate, speed limits in North Dakota are as follows:
  • 70 mph on paved, four-lane, divided highways
  • 65 mph on two-lane highways unless otherwise posted
  • 55 mph on paved two-lane county roads and paths that have loose dirt or gravel
  • 25 mph to 40 mph in business districts and residential areas
  • 15 mph to 25 mph in school zones
North Dakota is decidedly rural, so before you explore the state, make sure that you have a proper, affordable car insurance policy in place with the
