What is the most unsafe driving behavior?
Is there a driving behavior that’s considered the most unsafe? I’m doing a presentation for my driver’s ed class and that information would really drive home my main point.

This is a great question since it’s something that most people have been guilty of at one point or another! Improper speed is the most unsafe driving behavior in the U.S. This includes both driving too quickly or
driving too slowly
.However, there are other dangerous driving behaviors that are common among U.S. drivers, such as:
- Not respecting right of way: When drivers don’t respect the right of way by running a red light, refusing to yield to others, or running a stop sign, they endanger themselves, other drivers, and pedestrians.
- Passing incorrectly: If you pass at the wrong time or forget to check your blind spots before trying to pull around someone, you put yourself and other drivers at risk.
- Turning incorrectly: Making wide turns or turning into the wrong lane causes a lot of accidents, particularly accidents involving bicyclists.
- Tailgating: Driving closely behind someone reduces your reaction time, so you’re much more likely to rear end them if they stop quickly.
- Staying to the left of center: Driving to the left of the center of your lane can put you closer to oncoming traffic and may give you less room to swerve and avoid obstructions in your path.
The best way to stay safe while driving is to have great car insurance.
