“To abide by state law,
Montana
drivers must carry, at a minimum:
  • $25,000 in bodily injury liability per person
  • $50,000 in bodily injury liability per accident
  • $20,000 in property damage liability per accident
Liability insurance pays for damages to other drivers and cars if you cause an accident.
Uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage is optional, but you must decline it in writing. This coverage pays for your damages if you get in an accident with a driver who has no or insufficient insurance coverage.
