I’ve always wanted a sporty Japanese car, but I only have the budget to buy a used one. The Mazda RX8 has been one of my favorites, but I’m not sure if it’s still covered under warranty. What is the warranty on a Mazda RX8?

The Mazda RX8 warranty package included a 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty and a 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty. However, the last one rolled off the assembly line in 2012, so all of the RX8s on American roads are no longer under warranty.
However, all is not lost. You can still get mechanical breakdown insurance as an add-on policy to your car insurance. It’s often more affordable than an extended warranty and will help you cover the costs of repairs to your Mazda RX8.
