What is the Massachusetts electric vehicle rebate?

Prices for gas in Boston have gotten crazy over the last year. To overcome this added expense and help the environment, I was thinking about buying an electric car. Does Massachusetts have an electric vehicle rebate?

If you want to save money at the pump, you’ll be glad to know that
Massachusetts
has an electric vehicle rebate for its residents. This electrical vehicle rebate provides up to a $2,500 rebate toward the purchase or lease of a new electric vehicle. The only restriction is that the sale price of the electric vehicle must be below $50,000.
If you don’t have the budget for an electric vehicle, you can also get a rebate from the state of Massachusetts of up to $1,500 for a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV). These vehicles have a hybrid powertrain consisting of an electric motor and a gas-powered engine, but they also have a short all-electric range, typically between 15 and 50 miles.
Whether you decide to take advantage of the rebate on an electric vehicle or a PHEV, use the
