What is the Lincoln MKZ’s cargo space?

I’m thinking about splurging for a luxury car, but I currently own an old Toyota Highlander so I’m worried about losing a lot of storage. What is the 2020 Lincoln MKZ’s cargo space? Will it fit much?

Treating yourself to a luxury
Lincoln
as a replacement for your old
Toyota
SUV is a fine way to shake up your driving experience.
In terms of cargo storage, the
Lincoln MKZ
has about 15.4 cubic feet of cargo space in its trunk. While you will be losing the
Highlander
’s spaciousness, this is only to be expected when downsizing.
The good news: this is actually pretty sizeable for a midsize luxury car! While the MKZ’s narrow trunk opening has received complaints from consumers trying to maneuver large suitcases, it can fit about six carry-on suitcases nicely.
That said, if you opt for the
hybrid Lincoln MKZ
, the battery pack actually reduces the trunk’s cargo space to a measly 11 cubic feet. So if cargo volume is a big value for you in your search for the right luxury car, stick to the non-hybrid Lincoln MKZ.
If you have the funds to splurge (far) beyond the MKZ’s $36,750 starting price, you may also want to consider these spacious and luxurious alternatives:
  • 2021
    Genesis G80
Prestige 3.5T—16.1 cubic feet of cargo space
  • 2021
    Mercedes-Benz
S580—17.4 cubic feet of cargo space
  • 2021
    BMW 540i
Premium M Sport—17.9 cubic feet of cargo space
Whether you choose to splurge on that luxury Lincoln MKZ, stick to your trusty Toyota Highlander, or opt for a ritzier Mercedes or BMW, you’ll want to protect your investment with quality car insurance.
