What is the Kansas speed limit?

I’ve never been to Kansas before, but I want to visit to soak in the scenery and the attractions. In the past, I’ve had a few speeding tickets, so I want to make sure I know what the speed limit is going into the state. What’s the speed limit in Kansas?

If you’re headed to the Sunflower State, take note that the
Kansas
speed limit is 75 mph. This speed limit only applies to rural stretches of the interstate, so be aware when you’re around more urban or populated areas.
Some of the other speed limits in Kansas are:
  • 65 mph on state and federal highways (unless otherwise posted)
  • 55 mph on county and township roads
  • 30 mph in urban areas
  • 20 mph in school zones and residential areas
While Kansas is a beautiful state, it’s decidedly rural. You may want to hop on the
