What is the Honda Odyssey oil type?

My growing family has finally outgrown my Honda CRV. I upgraded to a Honda Odyssey last month, and my family loves it. To save money for the kids, I thought about changing the oil on my own. What type of oil does a Honda Odyssey need?

The type of motor oil to put in your
Honda Odyssey
 is all dependent on its age. According to
Honda
, the oil type for the Odyssey is 0W-20 for models made after 2010 and 5W-30 for models made in 2010 or prior.
You won’t necessarily hurt the engine by subbing one for the other, but more modern Honda engines run significantly better in cold temperatures with the 0W-20 option. Whether you choose synthetic, a synthetic blend, or conventional is entirely up to you, but synthetics tend to give you about 2,000 more miles before the next oil change for only a few bucks more.
