What is the Ford Focus ZX3’s top speed?

What’s the top speed of the Ford Focus ZX3? I saw a pic of this older Focus while I was going down an Internet rabbit hole, and it looks like a fun, zippy little OG!

The
Ford Focus ZX3
was a unique three-door hatchback offering from the Focus’s first generation. It definitely leaned towards the sporty side, but not with the type of sport you’re thinking of. The Ford Focus ZX3 only had a top speed of 104 mph in 2001, and it’s safe to say that later model years didn’t get much faster.
Information about the discontinued Ford Focus ZX3 is somewhat limited online, but here’s what we do know:
  • Ford Focus models from the later years of this generation typically couldn’t exceed 123 mph.
  • The 2006 Focus ZX3 had a 2.0-liter I-4 engine capable of up to 136 hp and 136 lb-ft of torque with a 5-speed manual transmission.
  • The Focus ZX3 had a 0-to-60 acceleration time of 8.7 to 9.5 seconds throughout the years.
  • Though not exceptionally fast, the Focus ZX3 was considered sporty for its handling and acceleration.
If you’ve got your eyes on a used Ford Focus ZX3, or you’re considering one of its more recent descendants, you’ll need to make sure it’s covered with the right
car insurance
policy.
