Applying for a Kentucky learner’s permit is relatively straightforward. You’ll have to:
If you’re between the ages of 16 and 20, you must hold your learner’s permit for at least 180 days before applying for an intermediate license. If you’re under 18, you’ll have to complete a practice driving log, recording a minimum of 60 hours of driving (at least 10 at night) with a licensed supervisor.
You can upgrade to an unrestricted license after completing a driver’s education course and holding an intermediate license for 180 days. Driver’s education is always required, regardless of how old you are when you apply.
Best of luck as you apply for your permit and practice for your driver’s license!
