It’s not uncommon for teens to be eager to get out on the road! But the laws state-to-state can definitely get confusing.
The driving age in
Indiana
, is 15 years old for a learner’s permit
and 16 years old for an Indiana driver’s license
.To apply for a learner’s permit at 15, they will have to enroll in a state-approved, behind-the-wheel driving course. Otherwise, they’ll have to wait until they’re 16. They’ll also need to pass a vision test and knowledge exam and, if under 18, get a signature from a financially responsible adult.
