What is the Dodge Charger Police’s top speed?

I just found out that police forces use their own special make of Dodge, and I’m curious to know more about these patrol vehicles and what makes them so special. How fast can the Dodge Charger Police go?

The
Dodge Charger Police
has a top speed of 155 mph. These police cars—also known as the Dodge Charger Pursuit—come with a 3.6L Pentastar V6 (AWD) or a 5.7L HEMI V8 (RWD) and can reach 60 mph from standing in just 6.4 seconds.
The Charger Police is specifically designed for safety and handling in high-speed chase scenarios:
  • High-strength steel construction and large crumple zones reduce the driver’s risk from an impact
  • Electronic stability control and a four-wheel disc BR9 braking system allow for improved braking and handling
  • Improved traction control and heavy-duty suspension allow for nimble four-corner handling
It’s not uncommon to find a used old patrol car for sale, although it may be a while until you see one of these Charger Police cars on a used car lot.
