What is the disposition fee on a Toyota?

The lease is almost up on my Toyota, and I’ll need to turn it in soon. I’m looking over the paperwork and noticed I have to pay a disposition fee. What is the disposition fee on a Toyota?

On average, the disposition fee on a
Toyota
ranges between $250 and $450. Toyota Financial Services (TFS) may automatically waive this fee for loyal return guests if you lease another vehicle within 30 days of your return or if you’ve had three or more finance contracts with TFS.
Leasing companies usually charge a disposition fee (or a turn-in fee) to cover the cleaning and repurposing costs of your former leased car to prepare it for resale. Once you head into the last 90 days of your lease, you have a few options:
  • Turn in your leased Toyota and purchase or lease a new Toyota: Your disposition fee will be waived if you’re a returning guest!
  • Return your current Toyota: You’ll have to pay your disposition fee in this case, along with all other contracted payments and miscellaneous fees.
  • Purchase your current Toyota: You can get a payoff quote by logging in to your TFS account or calling TFS at 800-286-0652.
