What is the disposition fee on a BMW?

I’m about to turn in my leased BMW to the dealership and I just realized I have to pay a disposition fee when I return it. What is the disposition fee on a BMW?

Unfortunately, you can’t just simply drop off your leased vehicle once you’re done! The disposition fee on a
BMW
is $350.
Also known as a turn-in fee, this is a mandatory step when you turn in your leased luxury vehicle, according to the BMW End of Lease Guide. But this fee will be waived if you plan on leasing or purchasing another BMW within six months from the lease turn-in.
Leasing companies tend to charge a disposition fee to cover the cost of cleaning and repurposing your former leased car to resale it. When you schedule your pre-inspection with BMW, they will also look at the following before accepting your turned-in leased vehicle:
  • Dings/scratches/dents
  • Miles
  • Overdue maintenance services
  • Parts
  • Tires
Additional charges may apply if any issues arise, including a $750 fee if you skip out on keeping up with a proper
car maintenance schedule
like regular oil changes.
