What is the curfew for teenage drivers in Texas?

My grandson is coming over for supper tonight, but I’m worried that he won’t be able to drive home if it’s too late. What is the curfew for teenage drivers in Texas?

It’s great that you’re spending time with your grandson!
The curfew for teenage drivers in Texas with a
provisional license
is midnight. So as long as you two don’t party too hard, he should be able to make it home with time to spare.
Here are a couple of other restrictions for teen drivers in Texas:
  • Teen drivers are not allowed to drive between midnight and 5 a.m. unless it’s for work, school, or a medical emergency.
  • For the first year, teen drivers can only have one passenger under the age of 21 in the car, unless they are family members (i.e. siblings).
  • Cell phone use is strictly prohibited
    , including hands-free features.
