What is the curfew for teen drivers in Utah?

My daughter just graduated from her permit to her license. We’re very excited for her, but there are still so many rules to keep track of! What time is the curfew for teen drivers in Utah?

The curfew for teen drivers in
Utah
is midnight. More specifically, drivers between the ages of 15 and 17 years old may not operate a vehicle between 12:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m.
But just like most rules, this one has a few exceptions. Your teen driver is allowed to operate a vehicle between 12:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. under the following circumstances:
  • There is a licensed driver at least 21 years old in the vehicle
  • The driving is for employment purposes, including the drive to and from work
  • The driver is going directly home from a school-sponsored activity
  • The driver is operating a vehicle for agricultural work on a farm or ranch
  • There is an emergency
As you continue to tackle the rules of Utah driving with your daughter, take some time to discuss your
teen’s car insurance
as well!
