I’m buying a pickup truck for my company. I don’t know anything about pickup trucks, and it’s all super confusing. I’m looking at the Chevrolet Silverado and I feel there are 900,000 trim options. What is this mess? And what is the Chevy Silverado’s top trim? Can you help me navigate all of this?

The
Chevy Silverado
has five combinations of cab and box styles, and the style you choose will define what the highest trim level is. The Chevy Silverado’s top trim is technically the ZR2 4WD trim, featuring a powerful 6.2-liter V8 engine, an improved suspension system, a 13.4” infotainment screen, and more. But that trim is only available with the crew cab and short bed.This means the best way for us to show you the Chevy Silverado’s top trim level is to break it down by cab and box options. - Regular cab, standard bed: WT trim (2WD and 4WD options available)
- Regular cab, long bed: WT trim (2WD and 4WD options available)
- Double cab, standard bed: RST 4WD (optional 6.2-liter V8 engine is available)
- Crew cab, short bed: ZR2 4WD trim
- Crew cab, standard bed: High Country 4WD (optional 6.2-liter V8 engine is available)
Which trim is technically the top trim for you is going to boil down to what you need this truck for. It’s not quite the same as buying a family vehicle, where one clearly-defined trim level tops the others. With pickups, it’s more about function than form and figuring out which trim works best in the environment you’re using it in.
