Nissan Versa
, which starts at $18,590.The Versa is a compact sedan that comes in three trims: S, SV, and SR. The interior is simple with plenty of trunk space (15 cubic feet), as well as power windows and locks. All models feature a 7-inch infotainment touchscreen with Bluetooth audio streaming, three USB ports, and a four-speaker audio system. If you want tech features that usually come standard in most new cars, like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, you’ll have to choose a higher trim level, though.
The Versa won’t win any races anytime soon, but it comes equipped with a respectable 122-horsepower four-cylinder engine and a five-speed manual transmission. Peeling out might not be its strongest point, but the Nissan Versa will save you money at the pump—achieving 32 mpg in the city and a whopping 40 mpg on the highway.
Nissan does safety right with a five-star rating from NHTSA thanks to standard safety features like front and rear automatic emergency braking, rear door alert, lane departure warning, and forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control are available on the higher trim levels.
