My daughter just got her driver’s license, and I’m looking for a safe, fuel-efficient used car for her to get to school with during the week. What is the best year for a used Toyota Prius?

That’s a great idea! Although they are a little older, many experts agree that the 2000 to 2003
Toyota Prius
 models are some of the best years for the hybrid sedan. These first-generation hybrids received almost no complaints while boasting great fuel economy and high-reliability scores.
If you’re looking for something more current, you also can’t go wrong with the Prius model years from 2013 to 2020. Not only are these third-generation cars just as fuel-efficient and reliable, but they also have more updated, high-tech safety features that come standard like a rearview camera, forward collision warning, and more.
Not all Toyota Prius models are created equal, though. Model years to avoid with this popular hybrid car include 2005 to 2012, along with 2016, due to common complaints of malfunctioning headlights and engine problems.
