What is the best year for a used Toyota Avalon?

I’m looking to buy my first car, and I like the Toyota Avalon. I can’t afford to buy a new one just yet, though. What would a good year be for a used Toyota Avalon?

Congratulations on getting your first car! When it comes to used
Toyota Avalons
, the best year is 2015 since it ranks high for dependability. J.D. Power gave it first place in its class for reliability back in 2015. Likewise, RepairPal gives the 2015 Avalon an above-average 4.0/5.0 reliability rating.
It’s also a very safe car, receiving a five-star safety rating from the NHTSA and a Top Safety Pick award from the IIHS. Other notable years for the Avalon are 2003, 2009, and 2012.
Not all Avalons are created equal, though. There are some years you should avoid such as the 2014 model which had sudden acceleration issues. The 2006 edition also suffered from total loss of motor oil without warning.
While the Avalon is a very good car, it comes with high
car insurance
 costs. The average annual cost of car insurance for Avalon owners is about $3,331—more than double the $1,588 national average.
