buying a used car
, it’s good to keep in mind that the best option will depend on your priorities. That said, the 2018 model is the best year for a used Nissan Rogue overall. The 2012 year is considered a good pick as well, though the 2018 Rogue will have more up-to-date tech on offer!As for model years to avoid, here’s a quick list of less desirable Rogues and why to pass on them if they show up in your Autotrader search:
- 2010: Reported transmission, electrical, paint, and acceleration issues
- 2013: One of the worst model years—received the highest volume of complaints and had the highest average repair cost
- 2014: High volume of complaints, lower than average reliability ratings
- 2016: Reported transmission and acceleration problems and had average reliability ratings
Other models, like the 2020 Nissan Rogue, sit in the middle of the group—not a particularly outstanding vehicle, but a bit more reliable than the bottom of the barrel.
