What is the best year for a used Nissan Pathfinder?

I am looking for a used SUV for my family. We frequently visit family on road trips, and I need something reliable and roomy. What is the best year for a used Nissan Pathfinder?

Post-2015 models tend to be the best years for a used
Nissan Pathfinder
.
The 2016-2022 models corrected previous issues and delivered great value for your money. Of course, no Pathfinder can excel when it comes to fuel economy. But you’re probably more interested in this car’s spaciousness, performance, and price tag.
Do your best to avoid third-generation models between 2005 and 2007. These Pathfinders had an issue with the radiators leaking coolant into the transmission, plus some nasty fuel system issues. Plus, they don’t have the driver-assistance technology or convenience features most modern drivers need. There was even a recall!
If you’re okay with a slightly older Pathfinder, the 2009-2012 models are also reasonably reliable. The 2005 problems were resolved in the 4th gen Pathfinder and received extra features like side curtain airbags.
If you’re not loyal to Nissan, you might want to consider the Honda Pilot or Toyota Highlander. Take them for a test drive and see which works best for your needs.
