What is the best year for a used MINI Cooper?
I want to pick up a MINI Cooper, but the new models are a little outside of my price range. I’m considering what the best used model would be. Is there a better year of MINI Cooper to buy, or am I overthinking this?

buying a used car
, it’s definitely a good idea to consider your options. The best year for a used MINI Cooper is the 2006 model. It has a range of premium features and is overall fairly reliable.However, if reliability is your main priority, you’ll be better off with a used MINI from between 2015 and 2021. Generally, these models have the best reviews and the fewest reported problems, and they have more updated features than the 2006 version.
Plus, the 2018 to 2021 MINI Cooper models get excellent critic and consumer ratings. The 2020 model has an 83 out of 100 from J.D. Power and a perfect 5.0/5.0 from Edmunds. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports zero recalls for the 2018 model year, making it a safe pick—and probably well within your price range!
