What is the best year for a used Jaguar?

I’ve always dreamed of buying a Jaguar, and I just got a promotion at work. I know I can’t afford a brand-new Jag, but a used one is within my reach! I’m just wondering, what is the best year for a used Jaguar?

Congratulations on your promotion! Shopping for the car of your dreams is an amazing, if not slightly overwhelming, experience. You didn’t mention shopping for a specific model, so here are some general recommendations for used Jaguars that stand the test of time.
Any
XJ
from 2010 to 2019 typically gets great reviews. It’s got a powerful V6 or V8 engine with enough horsepower to compete with top muscle cars. Plus, it’s a joy to drive—going from zero to 60 in 4.2 seconds!
The 2016
Jaguar F-Type
is another outstanding vehicle that you can’t go wrong with. If you think of a luxury sports car, this is probably the model that comes to mind. It’s a zippy little two-seater that handles well—even on bumpy roads.
When it comes to used Jaguars to avoid, we’d recommend steering clear of 2015 to current
XF
Jags. These have low-reliability ratings, probably due to the wide variety of problems and complaints with non-engine electrics, suspension, and the engine.
Remember to factor in the cost of
car insurance
for your new
Jaguar
. You’ll probably want full-coverage policies to protect your valuable investment. Enjoy shopping!
