My husband and I are planning to buy a used car for our daughter when she gets her license, and we’ve decided to go with the Honda Accord. Which models are the best?

Excellent choice—the Honda Accord is hard to beat! In fact, it’s one of the best-selling sedans in America, consistently earning top ratings and dependability scores. However, some years of the Accord are better options than other models. With the highest owner satisfaction scores, fewest complaints, and best reliability scores, here are the best years for a used Honda Accord:
Year: 2021; Typical listing price: $25,800
Used 2021 models aren’t likely to be very used, and they’ll have the most up-to-date tech and comfort features. This year model got a facelift from the previous model, giving it a more chic look. An 8-inch infotainment touchscreen came standard on every trim, too.
Year: 2020; Typical listing price: $23,000
The 2020 Accord earned a perfect reliability score and the highest owner satisfaction score from any other model. This model was released right before the Accord got a refresh, but it still includes all of the best tech features for a cheaper price.
Year: 2019; Typical listing price: $21,800
The 2019 Accord has everything that makes the Accord great—fuel efficiency, engine capability, comfort, tech features, and top safety scores.
Year: 2015; Typical listing price: $13,600
Another year for overall ratings—plus great fuel economy, solid performance, dynamic handling, and a roomy cabin. The 2015 model won top honors in its class, too.
Year: 2006 ; Typical listing price: $6,200
If your budget is on the tighter side, the 2006 Accord is a reliable machine with smooth driving, excellent safety ratings, and powerful engine options.
