Realistically, the best year for a used Ford Escape Hybrid is also one of the most recent—if you’re looking to purchase a Ford Escape Hybrid that’s already got some miles on it, your best bet is the 2020 model year.
After being on hiatus for 8 years, the Ford Escape Hybrid was revamped for the 2020 model year and outfitted with a powerful 2.5L iVCT Atkinson-cycle hybrid engine—the model has excellent acceleration, great gas mileage, and has received high safety ratings.
One of the only downsides to the 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid is the cost—even used, the model year averages between $24,000 and $28,500.
In any case, you’ll want to avoid Ford Escape Hybrids built between 2006 and 2008, as they have the most serious consumer complaints across the board.
