AWD offers much more traction than standard FWD. This drivetrain is an optional upgrade on the gas-powered Rav4 for $1,400, but the Rav4 Hybrid comes standard with electronic on-demand AWD. The standard 2023 Rav4 with AWD starts at $29,375, while the 2023 Rav4 Hybrid starts at $30,725.
To supplement the drivetrain in both SUVs is a Multi-Terrain Select system with a SNOW mode, as well as Toyota’s Safety Sense 2.5+ technology.
